But when they got signed and put out We Are Pilots again but with higher production values and less songs, they lost some of their quality. Their newest isn't going stand the test of time and will be forgotten within a year. But like Motley Crew's newest album, it's a guilty pleasure.Colin Matthew (TheBookPirate.com)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04352386043443302180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3829432.post-41586402255780359902008-11-24T19:57:00.000-08:002008-11-24T19:57:00.000-08:00It's like that old joke."Colin, why do you keep li...It's like that old joke.

"Colin, why do you keep listening to Shiny Toy Guns?"

"Because it feels so good when I stop." :)

My take on them is they are the kind of 1980s plunderers that, unlike the Killers, don't really bring anything to the table (see also: She Wants Revenge). I mean, we already a had a shitty version of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, and it was called My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult.

Your mileage may vary.Jamie S. You're just omitting that it remained painful the more it grew.Jamie S. I'm not impressed. While I do enjoy their "space pop" feel, I feel that Hot Fuss is still their best and most original work. Sam's Town was nice, but over produced. Mayhaps the new album will grow on me after I listen to it a few more times. The new Shiny Toy Guns album at first was painful, but then it grew on me. Maybe Day & Age will be the same way.Colin Matthew (TheBookPirate.com)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04352386043443302180noreply@blogger.com
