LIKE THE LEGEND OF THE PHOENIX, ALL ENDS WITH BEGINNINGS

Phoenix Comic Con is this weekend. Joëlle Jones and I are guests of the show, and we will be attending on all four days, sitting at the Oni Press booth. Fittingly, that is apparently tables 664 through 666!

Come find us. In addition to our Oni books, we will have other goodies, including It Girl and the Atomics trades and comic book, Helheim prints, and Ms Jones will even have some original art.

In order to make it easier to track us down, we are actually having an official signing schedule. That way, you'll know when we are expected at the table and when we are at panels. We might be hanging about during our free time, too, but then again, we might also be getting some lunch! (You'd be surprised how many comics folks forget to eat lunch at conventions.)

By the way, Joëlle did the con variant for the first issue of Boom! Studio's new Mike Carey comic book, Suicide Risk. You definitely want to seek that out at the show.

ONWARD, TO THE CITY

Okay, so we're off to Emerald City.

For the duration of the show, find both myself and Joëlle Jones at the Oni Press booth, #902. We will be selling books, and she will be sketching. Oni will also have special variants of the first issue of her awesome Helheim project exclusively for the show. You can get all the details of the Oni-planned events here, including the info on their panel.

For the convention, I will be selling a pack of the first five issues of It Girl and the Atomics, all first prints, for $12. That's one issue for free! I will also have copies of #6 and #7, as well as the alternate covers for #2. (Each pack only has one, either the Michael Allred or the Darwyn Cooke variant.)

I have one time away from the table. That's on Sunday, when I am signing at the Image Comics booth, from 3 to 3:45, at the same time as the awesome Fiona Staples. To encourage my getting some attention while sitting next to Fiona, I will be giving away It Girl and the Atomics posters I have left over, featuring the cover to the first issue, available only to folks who come and see me there. I will not be giving them away during the rest of the show.

You can also buy the minicomic that Jung Hu Lee printed up of the story he drew from my script, ou Cross My Path. It's debuting at the show. Find him at Booth K-14, then bring it over, I'll sign it.

If you aren't going to Emerald City, Helheim #1 goes on sale next week. You want to go get it. It's awesome.

For you folks near Chicago, on Wednesday, March 6, Joëlle Jones will be going to Challengers Comics for a signing and art show to celebrate the release. Get the details on their site.

RISE UP, THUNDERBIRD FLY

Another convention appearance to add to the calendar.

On May 23-26, Memorial Day Weekend, I will be at Phoenix Comicon in Phoenix, AZ. I will be tabling with Oni Press and Joëlle Jones.

I am extremely pleased to have been invited to attend. I have never done a convention in Arizona, and it's always good to go visit with comic book fans who might not otherwise get the opportunity. Plus, my pals Matt Wagner and Mike and Laura Allred will be there, so it's like my book club is going to a con.

Visit the Phoenix Comicon site for more details.

Of course, before that, we have Emerald City in Seattle and Stumptown in Portland. Don't forget to sign up for a Joëlle Jones sketch now.

READER MEET AUTHOR: Emerald City Comic Con & Stumptown Comics Festival

It's a new year, and once again, time to announce that I'll be attending two awesome Pacific Northwest comic book shows.

Emerald City Comic Con, happening in Seattle the first weekend of March, has announced Joëlle Jones and I as special guests. They always have an awesome selection of people--take a gander for yourself, right here--and we're proud to be amongst the 2013 roster. ECCC is a good time, guaranteed.

This year, Joëlle is promoting Helheim and I am promoting A Boy and a Girl, so we are setting up with Oni Press rather than Artist's Alley. Our collaborators will also be in attendance. Cullen Bunn will be there for Helheim, and Natalie Nourigat is setting up with Periscope Studios. I am told that Natalie and I will be on a panel with Oni to talk about A Boy and a Girl, which the publisher has postponed to launch around the same time. (Which is why you haven't seen the launch happen this month; we're bummed about it, too.) Megan Levens will be at the show, as well.

Joëlle is booking sketches, so check out the deal she's offering and get back to me.

We've also been approved for a table at the Stumptown Comics Festival on April 27 and 28.

This is going to be an exciting event. Chynna Clugston Flores is a special guest of the con, and I will likely be running her spotlight panel. We should have plenty of It Girl issues on hand.

Nicolas Hitori de has also booked a trip to be here. We'll probably be carrying around some Spell Checkers vol. 3 pages as a sneak preview.

And, I am sure Natalie will be around, as well, and A Boy and a Girl will be partly underway at onipress.com--meaning we can finally start talking to you all about it. We've been sitting on this for a year now, we're dying to hear what people think.

So, mark your calendars!
