HANG ON TO YOURSELF
NEW IN THEATRES...
* Never Let Me Go, an undercooked contender. I was really underwhelmed by this. Needed more of the story explained and more character material.
UPDATED TO CRITERION CONFESSIONS...
* The Darjeeling Limited, a pretty lengthy look at Wes Anderson's most mature movie.
* Seven Samurai, Akira Kurosawa's most famous film comes to Blu-Ray. (Also at DVD Talk).
THIS WEEK IN DVD/BD REVIEWS...
* The Grapes of Wrath, John Ford's astonishing adaptation of John Steinbeck, with Henry Fonda in the lead. Repackaged, not reissued.
* Samurai Vendetta, a tepid swordplay story that is strangely light on the revenge. How unfortunate this was in the pool the same week as the Kurosawa.
Current Soundtrack: David Bowie, Station to Station reissue (live concert)
e-mail = golightly at confessions123.com * Criterion Confessions * Live Journal Syndication * My Corporate-Owned Space * ComicSpace * Last FM * GoodReads * The Blog Roll [old version] * DVDTalk reviews * My Books On Amazon
