THOUGH I'LL BE FOUND FOREVER IN YOUR PAIN, AND HERE IT COMES...

The press release for Have You Seen the Horizon Lately? is now out in the world. Read it here at Newsarama, and I'm sure you can find it many other places, as well. It's solicited in the current issue of Diamond Previews for release in August.

We're still working on the cover design, but that's pretty close to what it will look like. We're still thinking about what to do with the question mark. Any opinions? Do we even need it?

Oni Press has also set up a page for the book.

You need the question mark.

You *could* have the top of the question mark look like the rest of the logo, in the same space and the same height as it would be if there was nothing there to obstruct it, but have the bottom period bit be a part of the horizon line- just another color. Maybe the same as the background, or pick another letter to share a similar color with elsewhere in the logo. Say, the first 'H'.

It's already ordered through my local comic shop. I can't wait!

Did Joey not include a horizon line in the cover art on purpose?

The concept was mine, and there's an element of vertigo on purpose. Overhead shot, slightly off-kilter. I think she brought a nice quality to it where they exist out of space and in it simultaneously--which very much fits the book.

I think you do need it, but it looks so lovely without it. Such a nice horizon line, as it were. I like Chynna's idea- maybe make the dot the same color as Julia's coat? Or just shift the bottom line slightly to the right and have the line come from the dot of the question mark?

I'm not sure if I'm "seeing" the way chynna described it, so I don't know if this is the same thing or not, just in my words.

My thought, and I don't know if I'll describe this eloquently or not, is this:

Think of the opening credits to a movie, or tv show. The title comes from "our" side of the screen, and slowly pushes back into the viewing area of the screen. It would just be the Have You Seen The Horizon Lately part. Then, after that "sets" on the screen, the question mark would do the same thing, and settle in behind the title. Apply that to how this is currently set up (basically, the question mark behind the text) and that's one way I can see it.

You might think that totally sucks or doesn't fit your vision, but that's just my idea. I like the way it looks, but also would like to see the question mark as well. :)
